Main Library Restoration Update

One of the capital campaign’s goals is to raise funds to professionally remove the numerous layers of varnish from “The Battle of Fair Oaks” painting. This large Civil War mural was commissioned by Morris Eckhart for his father Charlies in 1911. The removal of this varnish will be done by a professional restorer to bring this painting to its original look. You can see more about what a difference removing varnish can make on beautiful paintings like this by checking out this link. Interested in how you can help the main library?
