Eckhart Public Library campus buildings will have special hours around the upcoming holidays!

Buildings on the Eckhart Public Library campus will be closed on Friday, December 23, through Monday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday. Library campus buildings will reopen on Tuesday, December 27.

Tuesday, December 27, through Friday, December 30, all library campus buildings will close at 5 p.m.

The library campus buildings will be closed Saturday, December 31, through Monday, January 2, in observance of the New Years holiday. The Eckhart Public Library Campus will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Don’t forget, Evergreen Indiana will also update on December 31-January 2, and some online services will not be available during that time. Read more about this upgrade by clicking here.

The library’s e-book and e-audiobook collections will be available during the closings and Evergreen upgrade on Overdrive. To access your account, you will need your library card and PIN.

Here is what else is happening during the week of December 19:

  • Neon Readers Teen Book Club: We will talk about the books we are currently reading and then work on our movie project. Monday, December 19, 5-7 p.m., Teen Library.
  • Make It & Take It: Stop in and get creative with decorating your very own ornament. We will also have a couple different projects to create on your own. Children under the age of 7 should be accompanied by an adult. This is a drop-in program, so stop in anytime. Tuesday, December 20, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Secret Garden.
  • Cocoa and Crafty Tuesdays at Teen: Join us every Tuesday in December to drink some cocoa and make some Christmas gifts for your family and friends. Brought to you by the Teen Advisory Board. Tuesday, December 20, 4-5 p.m., Teen Library.
  • Pokemon Club for Teens: Pokemon enthusiasts in grades 6-12 are invited to bring their cards to the teen library and battle. Participants will go home with all their cards, as trading is not encouraged.  Pokemon club is free and no sign up is required. Tuesday, December 20, 4-5 p.m., Teen Library.
  • Turn a Page With Anni: This book club will discuss “On Strike for Christmas” by Sheila Roberts. Pick up a copy of the book at the Information Desk. Wednesday, December 21, noon to 1 p.m., Close Community Room.
  • Wild Wednesday Adventure Clubs – Pokemon Battle Zone: Do you love Pokemon? Bring your cards and battle other enthusiasts! Participants go home with all their cards. Trading is not encouraged. Wild Wednesday Adventure Clubs are for children in grades 1-5. Wednesday, December 21, 4-4:45 p.m., Secret Garden.
  • Super Happy Fun Time – Game On!: We will play holiday themed games like wrapping our friends up like snowmen, a snowball toss, candy cane pass and more. Super Happy Fun Time is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Thursday, December 22, 4-4:45 p.m., Secret Garden.
