And after Halloween comes November, of course, and November is National Novel Writing Month! The library is supporting NaNoWriMo participants and other writers during the month of November.

Eckhart Public Library will kick off NaNoWriMo on Tuesday, November 1, at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the Main Library. Anybody interested in writing creative fiction, whether they are involved with NaNoWriMo or not, is invited to attend the kick-off event to learn about NaNoWriMo and connect with other writers. Coffee, tea, and other treats will be served.

The library will also hold a halfway point event on Monday, November 14, at 6 p.m. Stop by Eckhart Public Library for inspiration, emotional support, caffeine, or a quiet place to write. On Thursday, December 1, at 6 p.m., the library will hold a “Thank Goodness It’s Over” Party. Writers are invited to celebrate the end of NaNoWriMo with cake, whether they participated or reached 50,000 words, and to share their work or advice with other writers. There will also be door prizes.

NaNoWriMo participants work toward the goal of writing a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. Read more by clicking here.

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
