2015 summer read

It’s shaping up to be a very exciting week at Eckhart Public Library!

Our Eckhart Summer Read Grand Finale is on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m., and you’re invited! This will be a fun event for all ages, and will include lunch served by the Auburn Moose Family Center; a bounce house sponsored by DeKalb Health; Uniteus, the United Way Bison; the Skatin’ Station; Before5; and other games and activities for all ages. The Friends of the Eckhart Public Library will also be holding its book sale that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most books will sell for $2 per bag.

Saturday is also the last day to participate in Eckhart Summer Read, and all grand prize tickets are due by 5 p.m. If you haven’t yet registered for Eckhart Summer Read, you still can! Register and you can earn prizes and entries to win grand prizes for reading materials checked out from the library.

Another expected feature of the Grand Finale – the Eckhart Public Library Fountain! The fountain, which has been being renovated thanks to many generous gifts (read more by clicking here) is expected to be back at the library on Wednesday. That day, the public is invited to view the fountain from the windows of the Close Community Room on the second floor of the Main Library.

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
