Technology can be intimidating. It can update, become obsolete, and new technology comes out all the time. The Eckhart Public Library has your back.

For the past few years we’ve offered our Technology Tutor help at no cost and you don’t need an Eckhart Public Library card to sign up for an appointment. We’re adding a new Technology Tutor time starting on February 4th, 2016.

Our regularly available times last for one hour increments and start at the following times:

  • Mondays at 11 A.M.
  • Tuesdays at 4 P.M.
  • Wednesdays at 5 P.M.
  • Thursdays at 11 A.M.
  • Thursdays at 5 P.M.

We strongly recommend contacting the library and scheduling an appointment as our tutors might be unavailable for drop-in appointments. If you want to learn a specific device such as your personal laptop or tablet, bring your device in with you to your appointment and bring a charger with you

Some of the things we’ve helped patrons with in the past are:

  • Using programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Learning computer basics (we’ve helped patrons learn multiple operating systems)
  • Tablets
  • How to install apps
  • How to borrow books from our digital library (you do need a library card and pin for this)
  • Setting up e-mail
  • Social media (creating accounts, what it is, how it works, etc.)

Heather: Technology Tutoring is one of my favorite things the library is able to offer and even if your tutor isn’t familiar with what you want to learn we use all the resources we can to learn as much as possible so we can help you learn. I’m thrilled that we’re able to add the Thursday 5 P.M. slot to the schedule.
