This Week (Or Two!) at Eckhart Public Library – December 21-31

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve made it to the holidays!

Eckhart Public Library will have holiday hours during the Christmas and New Years holidays.

This week, all library campus buildings will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, and will be closed on Thursday, December 24, through Sunday, December 27.

Library campus buildings will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 28, through Thursday, December 31, and library campus buildings will be closed on Friday, January 1, and Saturday, January 2, 2016.

When we get back from the New Year’s holiday, Eckhart Winter Read starts! Keep an eye out for more information coming soon!

Here’s what else is happening at Eckhart Public Library through the end of the year:

  • Neon Readers Teen Book Club: We will finish reading our book and then we will make some holiday candy for ourselves and our friends. Monday, December 21, 5-7 p.m., Teen Library.
  • Creative Writing Group: Group members share their writing and participate in writing exercises. All writers 18 years old and older, no matter the genre, are invited to participate. Tuesday, December 22, 6:30-8 p.m., JHG Room.
  • 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year!: Celebrate the New Year with Eckhart Public Library. During our countdown to noon we will ring in 2016 with New Year activities and a balloon drop. All of this fun is free and for children in grades 5 and under, children’s under the age of 7 must be supervised. No registration required. Thursday, December 31, 11 a.m.-noon, Children’s Department.

My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types.
