Eckhart Summer Read Grand Finale is July 11!

We’re getting toward the end of a very successful Eckhart Summer Read, and we want to celebrate with you!

We are having a party for all ages at our Eckhart Summer Read Grand Finale on Saturday, July 11, at 2-5 p.m. in Library Park! (If it rains, don’t skip! We will have activities around the library campus – but we’re thinking positive!)

The grand finale is going to have lots of fun things happening. There will be games and crafts, and a photo booth where you can take a heroic (or villainous) picture!

We are also having a costume contest at 3 p.m. Children, teens, and adults can dress up as their favorite heroes. This includes popular superheroes, historical heroes, and original superheroes; use your imaginations! Costumes do not need to be completely homemade, but they will be judged on creativity, workmanship, and authenticity. Winners in each category (children 5 years old-5th grade, teens 6th-12th grade, and adult 18 years old and up) will be featured in character on an Eckhart Read poster and bookmarks. Read more about the costume contest by clicking here.

There will also be snacks, giveaways, and more fun! And, at 4:45 p.m., we will draw the names of the winners of our grand prizes!

We hope you can join us for this fun event!

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
