We’re looking for heroes this summer! The theme of Eckhart Summer Read, the library’s annual summer reading initiative for all ages, is heroes real and fictional – both ordinary heroes and superheroes.

During Eckhart Summer Read, children, teens, and adults can receive prizes for reading items checked out from Eckhart Public Library throughout the summer, while also earning chances to win grand prizes at the end of the summer. Books, magazines, audiobooks, e-books, graphic novels, and manga all count toward Eckhart Summer Read totals. Adults can also earn additional grand prize tickets for checking out items from displays, playing “Book Bingo,” and attending events for adults and for all ages.

Researchers at the Willennar Genealogy Center can also earn prizes and chances at prizes when researching genealogy, family history, or local history.

Grand prizes include prize packs, e-readers, gift cards for local businesses, and more.

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
