The world has gotten so much greener in the last week or so! Enjoy the Library Park as the weather gets warmer – it’s a great place to read, eat lunch, surf the internet (our Wi-Fi reaches that far), or just hang out!

Here’s what’s happening at Eckhart Public Library this week:

  • Teen Poetry Contest: The Teen Library is accepting submissions for their annual Teen Poetry Contest! Submissions will be accepted April 1- April 30, 2015. Entries can either be dropped off at The Teen Library (705 S. Jackson) or submitted online. Prizes are $50 (first prize), $20 (second prize), and $10 (third prize). Middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) entries will be judged separately. Click here to submit a poetry contest entry online.
  • Register for the Annual Art Show:  The Friends of the Eckhart Public Library will hold its 48th Annual Art Show on Thursday, May 7, through Friday, May 15. Each entry must be an original work of the artist, produced in the last year. The exhibits will be open to the public and prizes will be awarded. The Sixth Annual Teen Art Show will also be held May 7-15. Teen artists must maintain a residence within DeKalb County and be enrolled in either middle or high school for the 2015-16 school year. About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
