In addition to National Library Week, it’s also National Volunteer Week – and what a perfect combination that is! Eckhart Public Library has lots of wonderful volunteers who help us accomplish all that we do here at Eckhart Public Library.
The volunteers at Eckhart Public Library help in a variety of different ways to assist the library in serving our patrons. Last year 150 volunteers contributed over 4000 hours to the library. During the course of the year individual volunteers gave two hours to 200 hours. All of those hours were vital to the many projects and programs that take place here at the library.
Our volunteers help in all of our departments. In Children’s they assist with Story Hour, ATLAS, LEGO Club, Shelving, and Concept kits to name a few. Adult Services has volunteers help with the EMOS program, the patron count, programing, and other special projects. The Teen Library has a great group of teens that serve on the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) and a few adult volunteers that assist in the evening. The volunteers at the Genealogy Center are helping with indexing, digitizing, entering meta data, and researching. Volunteers in Tech Services help with the processing of incoming books.
Eckhart Public Library has a wonderful group of people that are volunteering. We want to take a moment to say thank you to all of our volunteers. They are a great group of people and we enjoy having them here at the library!
And as an extra thanks, we created a short slideshow video thanking our volunteers. The video is also running on the screens around the library campus today (Wednesday):
