KKK is focus of history presentation on March 28

Eckhart KKK Presentation The last weekend in March, the Willennar Genealogy Center: A Service of Eckhart Public Library will be holding an educational presentation on the history of the Ku Klux Klan. Attendees will learn about Klan history, with a specific focus on the Indiana Klan in the 1920s. Genealogy intern Chelsea Molin will give the presentation, which will feature both Klan and anti-Klan items from the John Martin Smith Collection. The event will be held in the Learning Lab at the Willennar Genealogy Center on March 28, and will run from 2-3 p. m. All historical pieces to be featured are from the John Martin Smith Collection, which contains many items of local, state, and national significance. The Smith family has given Eckhart Public Library digitization rights to the collection. Registration is available, as space is limited.
