Eckhart Public Library Can Help You This Tax Season

IRS_Logo_Large

Tax season will be a little different this year, but Eckhart Public Library is here to help you find tax forms, instructions, and publications you need.  Budget cuts have forced the federal government to drastically reduce the number of tax forms, publications, and instructional booklets shipped to public libraries.

The tax products Eckhart Public Library will be receiving this year are forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ.  Federal tax instruction booklets will not be shipped to libraries.

As in previous years, Eckhart Public Library Staff cannot give tax advice nor direct patrons to which forms they will need.  We can help patrons navigate the IRS’s website and print or order materials. Patrons who need forms, instructions, or publications can print them at the library for $0.15 a page.  Forms, publications, and instructional booklets are also available on the IRS’s website.  Patrons can also order tax products online or by phone (1-800-829-3676) to be mailed to them.

State forms are available now at the library, though patrons can print them from the Indiana Department of Revenue’s website.  Seniors and low-income taxpayers can find assistance in preparing their state and federal taxes.
