The Children’s Department is starting a monthly Family Game Night for preschool- and elementary-aged children!
Family Game Night will be the second Friday of every month, beginning on December 12, from 4-6 p.m. in the Secret Garden on the lower level of the Eckhart Public Library main building. Children and families can drop in and play a variety of games with family and friends.
Family Game Night is recommended for families with children three years old through fifth graders. Children under age seven must be accompanied by a caregiver; children seven and older may attend without an adult if they wish.
“We’re so excited about this new family program at EPL!” said Eckhart Public Library Children’s Assistant Jan Hewitt. “Playing games with children helps them build a lot of social skills. They develop good character, problem solving skills, reasoning skills, sharing skills by taking turns, and language skills – all while having fun!”
Teenagers also have an opportunity to play board games and video games at Eckhart Public Library, on the last Friday of each month at the Teen Library.
