There is a silent auction of gift baskets, sponsored by the Friends of the Eckhart Public Library, going on now through Saturday, November 22.
The annual Giving Thanks Silent Auction, sponsored by the Friends of the Eckhart Public Library, features gift baskets created by local businesses and organizations, individuals, and library departments. Baskets revolve around a variety of themes to entice a wide range of bidders.
Bidder numbers can be obtained at the library during the auction, which runs during the Main Library’s regular operating hours. Bidding closes at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, and the highest bidders will be contacted by Monday, November 24. The winning bidders must pay for and pick up baskets by Wednesday, November 26, unless other arrangements are made.
In addition to making final bids, Saturday, November 22, bidders will be able to enter to win a chance to win a Mystery Basket, which has an approximate value of $100. To enter, adults 18 and older must obtain a bidder number and place a bid between 2 and 4:30 p.m. that day. Refreshments will be served in the Close Community Room during that time.
The Giving Thanks Silent Auction is an annual event by the Friends of the Eckhart Public Library. Revenues from the auction make up approximately 20 percent of the funds that the Friends use to support events, services, and collections at Eckhart Public Library.
