Throwback Thursday: John Martin Smith Postcard Collection

Willennar Genealogy Center’s collection is full of Throwback Thursday potential, so let’s get our #TBT on!

This week, we’re very proud and excited to announce that the first batch of images from the John Martin Smith Postcard Collection is now online!

Here is just a tiny sampling of the kind of postcards you can see in this great collection:

There are postcards showing pictures from all over DeKalb County, and many of them have messages as well, which are just as interesting as the pictures (and sometimes more interesting!).

To find the postcards on our online photo archives, go to the archives by clicking here. Click on “Visit Photo Database,” and then click on “Advanced Search” near the top of the page. In the box labeled “Collection,” type “John Martin Smith Postcard Collection.” (You can add keywords to narrow your search as well.) When you press “Search,” a message may come up that says, “Too many hits.” Press “Yes” to continue and start browsing this great collection! Enjoy!

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
