What’s Up At Willennar: ACRES Land Trust Presentation

I’m guessing a lot of you have heard of the ACRES Land Trust, but do you know what they do?

If you don’t know about ACRES, you don’t have to be in the dark much longer about this great area organization, because Fund Development Manager Heather Barth is going to be at the Willennar Genealogy Center in June to talk more about ACRES! And, we just found out that she will be able to share information about an exciting ACRES project that will be happening right here in DeKalb County!

ACRES Land Trust is all about preserving nature in our area. Their website states, “As our cities and towns expand, with more and more rural properties being claimed for development, there is an increasing need to preserve what is left of our forests, prairies, and wetlands … ACRES exists to help protect the last of our natural habitats in northeast Indiana, southern Michigan and northwest Ohio, and to teach others the value of keeping natural areas intact.”

Read more about ACRES at their website, and come hear more about it in person on Wednesday, June 18 at 6 p.m. in the Willennar Genealogy Center Learning Lab!

About Jenny

I am the Associate Director of Eckhart Public Library. My office is in the Administrative Annex, but I can often be found roaming the Eckhart Public Library Campus, performing acts of librarianship in every department! I love to read and learn about history. I'm also a huge fan of movies, TV and pop culture in general, and I love to read books of all types. Currently, I'm working my way around the romance section, with some historical fiction and graphic novels thrown in for variety! But you never know what I'm going to pick up next.
