Featured Children’s Books This Month

P.S. Be Eleven is Rita Williams-Garcia’s follow-up to her widely acclaimed and award-winning novel One Crazy Summer. Look for both of these great titles in our collection.

Set in 1871, One Came Home by Amy Timberlake is the story of Georgie, a young sharpshooter who searches for the truth when her sister goes missing.

Oliver And His Alligator written and illustrated by Paul Schmid is a fun tale of Oliver’s first day at school.

In the hilarious The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers, each color of crayon writes a protest letter to Duncan demanding better use of their talents.

Play, Louis, Play by Muriel Harris Weinstein, a biographical chapter book about Louis Armstrong as told by his horn, is a great way to introduce children to this American treasure.

About Katy

Some of the books I've recently come to love include Signal To Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, The Just City by Jo Walton, Goodbye Stranger by Rebecca Stead, and Bug In A Vacuum by Melanie Watt. I'm a firm believer in the power of the Oxford comma.
